This year September contest was not so rich for points, but on the other side, we enjoyed good relax. Hardware worked well, weather was fine all the time, bilberries were mellowed and beer properly cooled …
As last time we met on Friday with target to build antennas and wire all rig till Friday evening. Since last contest we had to make some repairs on power amplifiers which were finished few days before contest, so after successful testing of hardware also in field conditions we could go sleep with good feeling, that Saturday should be easy and without any stress. On Saturday we had a lot of time for “playing” with design enhancements on antennas, installing of IP camera etc. Weather was really tropical (nearly 20°C ) so queue near barrel of beer was sometimes quite long. Free time before contest was good opportunity for young (13 years old) operator Daniel. He made several tens of QSOs with pleasure and we had a lot of fun watching his operation. He remembered all our competitors, they must not win. Everything was excellent except conditions. In first hour of contest we had in log only 86 QSOs. Comparing with other stations from lower altitude, amount of contacts and score was increasing very slowly. Conditions improved after midnight so we could log nice QSOs like LZ9X (900km) or DR5A (904km). In the morning finally came to life also south-west direction and we made several nice contacts to Italy. The longest was IZ1ESM (902km). ODX in the end became SM7GVF (925km) from JO77 what is our new square.
Details about result are in contest report, pictures are here.
Thanks to all for calling and see you in October
